Draconia: Chapter 1                                           
                                     
Saraken looked down on the Castle of Draconia. The castle jutted out like a thumb on top of the desolate hill. He knew it was bustling inside with servants and courtiers. Many of the windows were lit except for the top spire, which was never lit. This is where The Queen stayed, and The Queen hated light! She had no name that the people of Ryu knew of; she was just known as The Queen. Her five tiny windows were shrouded with shadows and had deep, dark, thick wool curtains keeping the light from ever reaching the depths of the room. Every four years the Equinox of the 12 moons happened and that’s when she came out to “feast”. The Equinox would be happening soon and she will again come out of her room when no light, besides artificial light produced by orbs, shines down on Ryu’s rocky ridges and dark Qit filled caves. This was bad though, for she was a direct descendant of Draco himself! Draco (and The Queen) was a Dragoon. Body of a human.  The scales, wings, tail, and strength of a Dragon. All evil!
Behind the cursed Castle was a place called “Earth”. Tom Johnson (T.J.) had crashed into the middle of the Plains of Bjorm, a small expanse of lush green grass, trees, and shrubbery in the other wise boring craggy landscape, in a creature unfamiliar to Ryu. T.J. called it a “Space Shuttle” that he had piloted from the mysterious swirling planed of “Earth”. He also said he was an “Astronaut”… whatever that is. Since he crash landed here on Ryu, things had become tense between the Draconians and the Bjormians. Okay, not tense, they became taut. Fine! There was a war brewing and it was almost at a rolling boil.
“Saraken! Keep moving we mustn’t let the tail go cold.” Saraken was shaken from his day dream by his father Tallkin. For the past two days they had been hunting the Dragon of Draco’s Cave. It was a smaller Dragon on scale, but a murderer none the less!
